1. Acceptance
By creating a LorePages project, uploading photographs, or purchasing a product, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use LorePages.
2. Who may use LorePages
You may use LorePages only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least eighteen years old;
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the child whose photographs you submit, with the authority to consent to the processing of that child's personal information on their behalf;
- You are not a resident of, and not currently located in, the State of Illinois;
- You are not located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom;
- You are not on any U.S. government sanctions list and you are not in a country subject to a U.S. embargo.
LorePages is intended for parents and legal guardians. It is not for use by children directly. We do not knowingly allow children under thirteen to create accounts.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email and any confirmation links private. You are responsible for all activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Photographs you upload
You agree that every photograph you upload to LorePages depicts only your own child — meaning a child for whom you are the legal parent or guardian. You agree that you have the right to upload each photograph and that doing so does not violate any law or any other person's rights.
You may not upload:
- Photographs of children other than your own, including nieces, nephews, grandchildren, friends' children, students, or any other minor for whom you are not the legal parent or guardian;
- Photographs of adults;
- Photographs that show nudity, sexual content, violence, or that depict illegal conduct;
- Photographs you do not own or do not have the right to use;
- Material that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, publicity rights, or privacy rights.
If you violate this section we may suspend or close your account, delete the offending content, refuse a refund, and, where required, report the matter to law enforcement.
5. Safety screening (you should know this is happening)
Every uploaded photograph is automatically screened for safety using Amazon Rekognition and additional internal heuristics before any further processing. Photographs that trigger safety labels are quarantined and reviewed by trained personnel. Photographs suspected of depicting child sexual abuse material are preserved on legal hold and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as required by U.S. federal law.
Submitting such material to LorePages is a federal crime; submitting it knowingly may result in prosecution. Our screening and reporting are not optional and cannot be disabled.
6. What you grant us, and what we promise back
To produce the portraits you have ordered, you grant LorePages a limited, non-exclusive licence to use, store, transmit, and process your uploaded photographs and the inferred attributes solely for the purposes of:
- Safety screening (section 5);
- Generating the AI portraits you have ordered;
- Assembling the final keepsake products;
- Fulfilling and shipping printed products via our print partner;
- Operating and securing the service.
The licence ends when the photograph is deleted (ninety days after upload, or sooner on withdrawal or request). We do not use your photographs or your child's portraits for any other purpose, including: no model training, no marketing without your explicit prior consent, no resale, no sharing with data brokers, no public display.
You retain ownership of your uploaded photographs. You own the AI-generated portrait outputs derived from them, subject to the licence above and to any third-party rights in the underlying AI model output as governed by the AI service providers' terms.
7. Orders, payment, refunds
Prices are shown at checkout. We accept the payment methods supported by Stripe. By placing an order you authorise us to charge your selected payment method.
Digital downloads (the AI portraits as image files) are non-refundable once generation has completed. Physical products (hardcover book, calendar, framed poster, greeting cards) are refundable for thirty days from delivery if they arrive damaged or are misprinted by our print partner. If you change your mind on the design, we cannot refund a printed product that has already shipped.
Sales taxes may apply depending on your shipping address.
8. Withdrawal of consent and deletion
You may withdraw your parental consent at any time by emailing privacy@lorepages.com or using the withdraw option in your account. Withdrawal triggers deletion of all reference photographs and generated portraits within twenty-four hours. Audit records of the consent (the signature, timestamp, and confirmation) are retained for legal purposes.
Withdrawal does not entitle you to a refund of an order that has already shipped. It does entitle you to cancel any unfulfilled order at no charge.
9. AI-generated content — what to expect
The portraits LorePages produces are AI-generated and stylised. They are likenesses, not photographs, and they will not be a perfect match for your child's actual appearance. Different eras may produce results of varying quality. Some attempts may include artefacts of AI generation (extra fingers, distorted features). We re-generate at no charge if a portrait is clearly defective. We do not guarantee that every portrait will match every parent's expectations.
10. Service availability
We aim for high availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security incidents, or to comply with legal obligations.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LorePages is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LorePages and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for the LorePages product in question, or fifty United States dollars, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. To the extent any limitation in this section is unenforceable, it is reduced to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LorePages and its operators from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of any law, your violation of any third party's rights, or your submission of photographs you did not have the right to upload.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time by emailing privacy@lorepages.com. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, particularly section 4 (photographs you upload). On account closure all reference photographs are deleted; generated portraits remain available for download for sixty days then are deleted unless we are required by law to retain them.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of LorePages is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
This does not deprive you of any consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.
16. Changes to these terms
When we make material changes we will email anyone with an active account and post a notice on this page. The "last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the current version. Your continued use of LorePages after we publish updated terms is your acceptance of those terms.
